Chris Molnar is a Los Angeles-based writer.

He is founder and editorial director of Archway Editions, the literary imprint of powerHouse Books (distributed by Simon & Schuster) publishing authors like Ishmael Reed, Alice Notley, and Paul Schrader. In 2014 he co-founded the Writer’s Block, the first independent bookstore in Las Vegas.

He is a graduate of various religious institutions in Michigan and, after many years in New York City, the Columbia University MFA. Fiction can be found in Tiding HouseNDA: An Autofiction AnthologyVol. 1 Brooklyn; non-fiction in BOMB, The Shadow, cokemachineglow, etc.

Anthologies edited include UnpublishableArchways 1 and the forthcoming volume of Last Poems by John Farris; periodicals include Issue 3 of KGB Bar Lit Mag. Video-poems in the Wild Radio series with Brent Kite include Gas Stations at Night and Artifacts of the Moon.

He has been writer in residence for Writing Downtown Las Vegas, completing the novel Heaven’s Oblivion and a novel about the early Chinese-American experience drawn from the life of a forebear.
